Theater by the Sea

For my daughter's 9th birthday, she wanted to swim with the dolphins so we took her to Islamorada, Theater of the Sea. It’s a beautiful marine and animal park that offers personal and up close performances. It is well shaded with King Palms and lush tropical gardens. It is a perfect place to swim with the dolphins because they are in a natural salt-water lagoon with the back drop being miles of ocean. The trainer gave her 30 minutes of educational lesson on the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins and then allowed her to swim with them for an hour. She did a fin swim, a race swim, held the hoop while the dolphins jumped through, and received a kiss from the dolphin. She loved it. After her swim with the dolphins, we still had the rest of the day to see all the shows. I don’t know if it is because we paid for her to swim with the dolphins or because she is so cute, but she got chosen to touch a sting-ray, feed it, play catch with a sea lion, and help a parrot count to ten. It was a perfect day for her.
